Above sample shows possible EDI scenario to control and monitor logistic and financial transactions step by step. The control is not a simple technical check of the message file transfer but clearly visible by the business. The customer demand is communicated with using standard message types like DELFOR, DELJIT and ORDERS. (Message version is not used in this sample).
Together with the physical shipment Tier1 supplier needs to send an EDI shipping notification and check the functional acknowledgement on application level. DESADV transfer can have successful status only if the APREAK sent and processed successfully too. Physical goods receipt is conformed with using RECADV and sent by the customer.
Supplier can send an invoice by shipment or on regular basis and, depending on the agreement, a payment / remittance advice is sent as soon as the payment has been requested or completed by the bank.
Using these application level confirmations both trading partners can easily control the key steps of shpping and invoicing procedures and it is also possible to compare planned and real figures with help of historical data of these documents.
